Leaf Magic

Yesterday, in the midst of a million things I had set up for myself to do, I took my dogs for a walk.

I went to a very quiet place near my house with scores of big trees, it's a cemetery about a mile square, a hundred and thirty years old. We walked for a long time, and eventually sat down on a stone bench. I look up at this oak tree- it still had most of it's leaves on it, but they had turned the most beautiful golden color against the backdrop of an intense brilliant blue sky. They were living jewels. No Egyptian king, no Roman emperor, no president or holy man has ever seen anything more spectacular, I am sure of this. I DRANK it in.

We walked some more, and sat down on the edge of one dirt path. To my surprise, even in mid November, I looked down and saw some green and red fern, and these little tiny purple flowers, fresh as could be. Especially a surprise considering some really cold weather last week and snow. We found another tree, and sat and watched that one for a half an hour- (the dogs really enjoyed this). I don't know the time exactly, time wasn't an issue, nor did it seem to exist then. Only a dozen or so of the trees in this "park" still had leaves, the oaks seem to hold on to them till spring. It was watching a living painting.

Here, I was in the here and now. No planning, no imagination, to paranormal powers manipulation. There are times when you just sit like a lizard on a nice warm rock. And it's fantastic.

Finally, I realized I'd better take the dogs back- actually they're my mom's, she'd worry where we were all this time. The frontal lobes were kicking back in and keeping me out of trouble.

After I dropped the dogs off at mom's, I decided to return to the cemetery, I could still enjoy some more of this winter leaf kaleidoscope. I went back to the first tree and was ready to sit and enjoy it- when suddenly-------

BRAIN RADAR. A crow started talking to me- making a racket for no reason. CAW CAW CAW CAW. He telepathically communicated to me: "Don't sit here, this is bad, go away, do something else." >>> I have learned to pay attention to signals coming from my environment that my frontal lobes brain radar intuitively interprets as ALERT!<<< There's no coincidence- this crow is talking to ME!

So I left, and thought "Well, there's that other tree..." So I went a quarter mile down and found the other spot. To my surprise, laying on the grass was a library book I had absent mindedly left there earlier in my reverie, (during my brain "vacation"). Had I stubbornly ignored my brain radar and the "irrelevant" crow, I would have lost this book, left to sit in the rain and might have never had known "where on earth was that book?" My frontal lobes synchronicity intuitive guidance system poppped up......without me "TRYING". It saved the day when I needed it. Thanks brain!
