Once upon a time in a far away land, China, I was born into a family of Western medicine, where every child was expected to be a medical doctor.   But  I was never crazy about pills or surgical knives.   Fascinated  by the 5000 years old herb medicine and acupuncture,  I started my training in medicine by taking lessons from a traditional Chinese doctor in a far away village.   My dream to become one was over soon, however, after a patient passed out under my needles and broke his nose.  Following my parents'  advice "do no harm," I studied physics instead.  After receiving  a doctorial degree in history of science and became a licensed attorney, however, I found my passion in art.

Each person uses her or his own eyes to observe the world and her or his own feeling to embrace the world.    To me the universe is beautiful, from galaxies to little strings.  True, there are ugly things (I am not talking about appearance!)  in this world, but I do not want to paint them.   True, we all have our ugly moments when we yield to greed, hatred,  jealousy, etc., but I do not want to record those moments, rather wait to capture the full expression of a being's internal beauty.

Painting is a ritual to me.  Starting with music, yoga, dance or meditation, I let the creative energy flow, and wait for my vision clear.
