Pulling Down The Firelogs

In 1982 I first met Lingo after receiving a written invitation from him, and before long I was helping him around the lab and became his assistant in everything from organizing city study groups in Denver, to helping gather the firewood for the winter up on the mountain. This was an annual event in which the dead fallen trees 1/4 mile straight above the lab in the forest were collected and dragged down with ropes by People Power. No other way to do it in this thick and steep aspen and pine sanctuary. Here I am headed up the trail, pointing to the massive 300 foot high granite cliff marking one boundary of the lab.

T.D. Lingo himself took this picture of me , and all those that follow on this thread, during this firewood collecting expedition. He refused to let me point the camera at him that day!
