After the long slow trek up to the top of the lab's forest and a good long break enjoying the view, it was time to drag the firewood down. You would wrap a thick twelve foot long rope around three or four 25 foot long trees, where all the branches were cut off by Lingo already, loop it around your waist, and then drag those heavy suckers downhill back to the cabins. Fortunately you had gravity on your side- and more than once you had to scramble out of the way so you wouldn't get run over by your own logs! (PS- Lingo took all these photos of me- he refused to have his picture taken that day!)
